My Coaching Style

With over 7.6 billion people on the planet, it’s obvious that there are many options for coaches and their coaching styles. We’re all different and have different tastes, and that’s fine! In this post, I’ll discuss my coaching style as well as what I expect from my clients.

My Top 5 do’s
  1. listen with empathy, ask probing questions, and work with my client to achieve gradual but long-term change.
  2. I encourage gradual but consistent behavioural change.
  3. Whatever my client says or does, I accept and support them.
  4. I try to get to know and understand my clients as a whole; I care if they’re busy with work, children, or life in general. I care if they’re stressed or having a difficult time.
  5. I‘ve spent years studying nutrition and wellbeing, but I believe my clients are the best judges of what they want and need. I help them find all of the ‘hidden’ answers.

My Top 4 dont’s
  1. I don’t promise or promote quick weight loss by putting my clients on a 500-1000 kcal diet.
  2. I don’t promote or support 30-day detoxes, juice cleanse, slimming teas, extreme low calorie or any other BS ‘miracle’ diets.
  3. I don’t judge or shame my clients, no matter what they tell me (I don’t react with ‘omg how could you do that?!‘).
  4. I don’t instruct my client what to eat. I believe they are fully capable of making this decision on their own. For example, I don’t tell my clients to eat rice, broccoli, and chicken every day or to exercise every day, unless they want to.
What I expect from my clients
  • Honest and open communication.
  • Willingness to learn and grow (at their own pace).
